چکیده
The physic and chemical characterization of the bentonite clay from Chiqui Gómez deposit, central Cuba, (Cuban clay) shows that it is mainly constituted by sodium montmorillonite (>90%), with a structural formula for one-layer unit determined as (Na3.99Al0.01)(Al1.11Fe3+0.49Mg0.18Ti0.07)(Ca0.24Na0.15K0.01)O10(OH)2. Cuban has specific surface area 80 m2g-1, pore volume about 0.0776 cm3g-1, 61% porosity both N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms exhibit hysteresis loop IV type. thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) studied mineral presents first endothermic peak, characteristic montmorillonite, in 48.1 ºC others less accentuated (80.8, 94.0, 119.8 ºC) corresponds to loss water, can be extended up 250 ºC. FT-IR spectra show existence Si-OH, Al-Al-OH, Al-Fe-OH, Al-Mg-OH Si-O-Si functional groups all samples, bands between 1,120 461 cm-1 correspond phyllosilicate structures OH stretching vibrations were observed. pH at point zero charge (pHPZC) obtained value 8.1, which allows classified basic.

Interaction between tylosin and bentonite clay from a pharmacokinetic perspective.
The interaction between bentonite and tylosin was investigated in broiler chickens, based on pharmacokinetic characteristics obtained in vivo. Simultaneous oral administration of bentonite and tylosin significantly lowered plasma levels of tylosin and reduced the area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC(0-inf)), maximal plasma concentration (C(max)), time to maximal plasma concentrat...
متن کاملEquilibrium and Thermodynamic Studies of Cesium Adsorption on Bentonite Clay
Removal of cesium from synthetic aqueous solution through adsorption on bentonite, under batch equilibrium experimental condition at different values of pH and four temperatures (303, 313, 323, 333 K) was investigated. For this propose the suitability of the Freundlich adsorption model for equilibrium data were investigated. The parameters in the adopted adsorption isotherm models were determin...
متن کاملBentonite Clay as a Natural Remedy: A Brief Review
BACKGROUND From old times, the human kind has used clays, externally or internally, for maintaining body health or treating some diseases. Meanwhile there are few scientific articles reviewing the beneficial effects of clays on body function. Bentonite clay is one of the available clays in nature, used as traditional habits, and remedies in many cultures. METHODS These articles explored among...
متن کاملBiofilm formation of Pasteurella multocida on bentonite clay
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Biofilms are structural communities of bacterial cells enshrined in a self produced polymeric matrix. The studies on biofilm formation of Pasteurella multocida have become imperative since it is a respiratory pathogen and its biofilm mode could possibly be one of its virulence factors for survival inside a host. The present study describes a biofilm assay for P. multoc...
متن کاملContinuous wave MRI diffusion study of water in bentonite clay.
Three-layered clay minerals such as montmorillonite (bentonite) exhibit very short transverse relaxation times. This is especially true for samples with relatively low water contents in the region of 20% to 30%, which is the water content typically used in environmental technology applications (e.g., as a mineral liner material for landfills). The diffusion of water in samples with such short t...
